Day 16 – Martinborough, Upper and Lower Hutts, Petone and other suburbs

Today is all about getting to Wellington (which is only about an hour / an hour and a half away) and exploring a bit as we go. We left Martinborough preparing for their ANZAC day and made our way over the dramatic Tararua Range (or the Rimutaka Range – I’m not sure where one starts and the other ends) into Upper Hutt (a northern suburb of Wellington). Then we gradually made our way to our apartment stopping in Lower Hutt, then Petone (for a lovely toasted sandwich) then picking our way through the hills to Mount Victoria (where we’re staying).

Once we were settled we headed out to Brooklyn for dinner.

There’s not much to say … except, the view from the apartment is amazing and Wellington roads are pretty intense.
