We’ve finally arrived at our last stop on this holiday; Christchurch. There aren’t many photos today, it’s not that the journey wasn’t picturesque (it was), just that there weren’t really many opportunities to capture the scenery.
There were plans of rising early and walking the Kaikoura peninsula walk before the drive – but that didn’t quite eventuate. We did manage to rise not so early and walk half the Kaikoura peninsula walk. And it was lovely. Clear blue sea, dramatic cliffs, distant mountain views and seal drizzled beaches – in case you didn’t get the message, Kaikoura is a very picturesque town.
We then hit the road, stopping briefly in Cheviot for a stretch, a coffee and a snack.
We finally rolled into Christchurch mid-afternoon where we de-camped and headed out to the i-Site to plan our final day.
We ended the day with a pint and a pizza at the exquisitely named Winnie Bagoes.
