So after quite literally years of talking about it, our plan to move to New Zealand is apparently happening exactly like we thought (but didn’t really think) it would.
On the 26th October, we fly to Wellington to start a new chapter. Probably. I mean it might be the 27th or the 28th – at this stage really, who knows.
I started to apply for jobs in September (because that was the plan). I’d been watching the job market in Wellington for a while, and had picked the companies I wanted to work for. Top of that list was a firm who happened to be advertising for a senior digital producer; so I applied, they called, we talked and they offered me a job.
Unbe-freaking-lievable.
After we both panicked for a short while – we stepped up the sorting, the selling and the organising – with an end date booked in (I start on 31st October) it has become a lot easier to focus.
So I will blog this experience; the highs and the lows.
I can think of no better reason to blog than when you undertake an awfully big adventure.
