Okay, okay … I know. I’ve been so bad at keeping this blog up-to-date. It’s just that we’ve been so busy. We’re just over a week into the adventure. Since arriving we’ve:
- Sorted out local phones
- Bought a car
- Worked two weeks at Springload
- Met a whole bunch of very nice and cool people
- Bought a whole heap of vital household stuff to tide us over until our container arrives (bed, heater, cups, plates etc)
- Found a place to live
- Sorted out Internet (kinda)
- Watched fireworks
- Done some outlet shopping
- Moved in to the afore mentioned place
- Found an amazing Italian restaurant
In short, we’re pretty tired but it’s all going splendidly. We already feel quite at home in Wellington; we’re very much in the honeymoon period still, but there’s so much to like here. The coffee, the beer, the food, the shops are all just lovely. And every now and again (most days if I’m honest) you’ll catch site of a view of the harbour or the hills beyond or the ocean and it will take your breath away.
Our container has arrived (we think) … customs permitting we should have our stuff shortly. It’ll be nice to have some chairs and a table again.
