Last night we wandered into Muri and found somewhere claiming to be tapas. What followed was fairly mayonnaise-heavy meal (not our first here) involving bao buns, tacos and an excellent seared tuna salad. The tuna here is fresh, so whenever it appears on a menu it feels like a good thing to order.
This morning we rose. Slowly. Which is becoming something of a theme. Breakfast, a brief shop and then cycled around to Papa’aroa Beach, which we’d spotted on Sunday.
It was empty. Just us, white sand and a very lagoony lagoon.
We swam, sat about, eventually ate a modest picnic, then cycled a little further on for coffee and tea at Au Tree.
Then made our way home gingerly (the roads are not maintained with the cyclist bums in mind), followed by a collapse of stout party to regroup before this evening’s at the markets again.
We’re not doing a lot.
I think that may be the point.
